how to dry garlic
Garlic is a commonly consumed food in daily life, and regular consumption offers certain health benefits, including the prevention of various illnesses. Processing garlic into dried products using a drying machine not only preserves its original flavor and nutritional content but also mellows its unique aroma before consumption, significantly prolonging its storage life. So, how can garlic be dried effectively? The selection of appropriate drying equipment is crucial. Utilizing an air-source heat pump dryer for drying garlic slices involves the following steps: Firstly, clean, separate, and peel the fresh garlic cloves, then cut them into thin slices with a thickness of 1.8-2 millimeters. Place these slices in hot water at high temperature for a three-minute blanching, then transfer them to cold water for rinsing and cooling. Use a centrifuge to remove excess water from the garlic slices’ surface. Next, arrange the garlic slices evenly on the material tray and set the drying parameters. After drying, due to variations in size and moisture content, a moisture balance procedure is necessary for consistency. Pack the dried garlic slices into plastic bags, seal the bags, and place them on a shelf for approximately three days before use.
