Indian Devil Pepper Drying Project
1、 Project Background
Industry pain points: Indian chili processing has long relied on coal-fired kilns/diesel drying, with three major problems:
① High pollution: Emissions of sulfur oxides and particulate matter exceed the standard and cannot pass the EU organic certification.
② Cost fluctuations: The rise in fossil fuel prices has led to processing costs accounting for 40%.
③ Low efficiency: The daily production is only 3-5 tons, and there is a significant production capacity gap during peak season.
Customer demand: Build a continuous, zero pollution drying production line to achieve an hourly output of 10 tons; Reduce fuel costs and meet ISO 22000 certification requirements.
2、 Solution
According to the customer’s daily demand of 30 tons, Jinlu has customized a mesh belt dryer with a length of 35 meters, a width of 2.3 meters, and a height of 7 layers for the customer. The heat source is equipped with biomass pellets, which use biomass pellet fuel (made from sugarcane bagasse/straw). The carbon emissions are reduced by 70% compared to coal combustion, and the sulfur oxide emissions are approaching zero. The calorific value is as high as 4500kcal/kg, the thermal efficiency is 85%, and the fuel cost is only 60% of diesel. The equipment is designed to flip in an S-shaped loop, facilitating rapid drying of chili peppers. The PLC LCD control system adopts stage temperature control and variable frequency speed regulation. Feedback alarm system, real-time monitoring of particulate fuel supply to avoid the risk of fire or overheating.
3、 Implementation results
Cost optimization: Annual fuel cost savings of ₹ 1.8 million (RMB 216000), with an investment payback period of only 6 months. Reduce labor costs by 70% (only one operator is needed to monitor the equipment). Promote circular economy: consume 2000 tons of biomass pellets annually (supplied by local sugarcane bagasse) to reduce straw burning pollution.
4、 Customer Testimony
The biomass pellet dryer not only solved our environmental problems, but also greatly reduced costs! Now it can stably produce 10 tons of high-quality dried chili every day, and American customers have directly given us a three-year long-term order. This is an unexpected harvest for us!
